Breakdown of Modern Web Design
This is just too true...

This is just too true...

Toronto Star ran an article announcing that today is the scientifically-calculated "happiest day of the year". British psychologist Cliff Arnall developed a formula based on a variety of factors. Today, being a Friday right at the outset of true summertime, comes out as the best-scoring "happy day".
The psychologist has, in fact, developed the formula that looks like this: O + (N x S) + Cpm/T + He.Within that, O stands for being outdoors and outdoor activity, N for nature, S for social interaction, Cpm for childhood summers and positive memories, T for temperature and He for holidays and looking forward to time off.
Friday, June 23, was finally pinpointed because Friday marks the end of the work week for most, tapping into the "Thank goodness, it's Friday" feeling.
This day deserves a smile. :)
The Toronto Star ran an article about lesbian mother and artist Jess Dobkin who will be presenting her work from OCAD, "Lactation Station Breast Milk Bar", where attendees will be served a variety of breast milk.
Now yeah, this is some funky stuff, and I can't say I'd want to see this exhibit myself, but this just reminded me right away of the start of Clockwork Orange and the Korova Milkbar, a favourite hangout of Alex and his friends. If the movie is any indication, adults drinking human milk is definitely NOT a good thing.
Art repeats itself itself all the time, but in this case I'm not sure that's a good thing either!
Article here shows the 4 smokestacks by the waterfront in Mississauga being brought down today.
Ah the memories... I remember seeing them all the time while hanging out in the area when I was a kid. I love reading news like this, though. The Canadian gov't is clearly taking action towards cleaner energy, not just talking about it.
Incredible animation on YouTube of the earth being hit by a huge meteor. Whoever made this was extremely extremely talented. Wow.
So, I decided to try out this blogging thing. Can't hurt right? I know, I'm behind the times, and I feel like a baby taking his first steps with the whole thing, but hey, you gotta start somewhere.
My old site, www.jonathanmcgee.com, is soon to be out of commission. It was a cool project, but didn't really go anywhere. I learned some PHP from it and that's about it. These days I'm just more intruigued about the idea of writing random content and sending it out into the world for all to see. What will come of it, I don't know.
So why now? Well, I'm just so inspired by everything that's going on in the "Web 2.0" world these days. Specifically, I started using this site Netvibes. It's so awesome! I've never really read blogs before, but it just makes it so easy to do, and I'm blown away by all the relevant content that I've been finding in blogs out there! So, maybe I'll make some content someone out there will find relevant too.
Here goes nothing...
Hello? This thing working?
